To My Son,
From the moment I first held you in my arms in August 1999, I realized
at that time what a wonderful privilege it was to be your Mother.
Since that day I look forward to each and every morning when you come
find me and say, “I love you more than anything in the world,” and each
and every night when you tell me, “I love you to the moon and back
again.” I know that it will not always be this way, so I am grateful
that my heart will have an everlasting impression of those moments, and
that sometime later in your life you will realize how truly special they
were to me.
My greatest desire is to later look back in my life and know that I was
the best Mother I could be to you. I hope that I taught you how to soar;
may I have lifted you up! May you look back and remember learning
prayer, unconditional love, kindness, empathy and persistence. May you
learn to have a vision that feeds your heart and stirs your soul and may
you always feel peace in your heart.
Know that I always have and will always love you. Remember when I showed
you my necklace with your name and birthday engraved on it? It’s always
closest to my heart because that is where you are to me.

To My Babies,
You are each amazing individuals that have brought an incredible amount
of happiness and joy to my life. I remember the first time I saw each of
you and I have wanted to never miss another chance at seeing you smile,
hearing you giggle or watch you as you sat in amazement as your eyes
sparkle with each new experience. I have both witnessed and missed so
much. We separate at so many times each day but still you are with me
and I am with you. It is because of this that I wear this necklace with
each of your names engraved. I wear it everyday, everywhere. It is for
us, for you, for me to always be together even when we are apart.
There have been times when we have been separated and I cannot hold you
or be with you and yet you may need me. Know that I will always be in
your heart to hold your hand through anything. We share us. We have us.
